So on this island, and just like in the rest of the world basically, you drive on the left side of the road. This isn’t the easiest thing for americans I would guess, which led to a slight car accident. The irony of this accident is that my uncle, who was driving, works for the electrical company back home and we were smacked passenger side (their driver side) by a pickup truck from the local electrical company.
The accident was kinda scary, but I can make fun and jokes now because we all made it out safe. Even the driver that hit us that honestly was going for workman comp and Lord did he do a good job. I mean we pulled out in front of him but he had ample time to press the breaks. I was sitting right where he hit us and I literally watched him speed up! Thank God that it was me on that side and not my 82 year old grandfather. Shoutout to my reflexes to jump from leaning on the door and shoutout to my super steel right bicep taking the impact so everyone was okay lol. The perfect metaphor for the accident was “It was a bad pass but it should have been caught.” Of course after it ended I had to get a photo shoot in because I’m always looking for a good memory.
We also had the opportunity to go snorkeling to see the fish feeding on the shallow bottom. It was beautiful! Then the boat took us to some tiny island called “no mans land” where we had a cookout and drank “rum punch.” Here are a few pics that I was able to take, also a few of the resort view. All in All, this was a super exciting trip and it was convinced me that staying in my country is limiting myself of living life. The only bad things about this trip is that I underestimated how tolerant my skin was of the sun. I figured black people didn’t get sunburned. Boy was I wrong. Towards the end of the trip my skin started peeling off like I was using hydrochloric acid as lotion and it looks like its going to be this way at least for a few weeks. Also I broke out with pimples, making me look like I’m in high school again so no more photo shoots for me for a couple weeks as well lol. Anyways, I will be doing more adventurous activities in the future so stay tuneddddd.
