OMG…(That stands for Oh My God incase y’all didn’t know)…So my craigslist posting actually worked. While it technically did work, y’all should really see some of the responses that I received. Like I knew that I was going to receive messages from some crazies, but damn my expectations are never fulfilled this accurately.
If I had to add up all the reply’s I received, it was probably about 16 or 17 people who wrote back to me in total, which is great, I think…Now about 3-4 of those responses were actually something feasible, that I would actually consider. I mean to be fair, my post was a bit liberal with what I was willing to consider my living situation, but I could NOT believe what some of these people were saying.
So this one gay I mean guy lol wrote me a message offering his room, which for what he was asking in rent was fair. It wasn’t until after a few pictures exchanged that I realized he would be sleeping in the room with me, which considering could have been fine..(because I generally tend to believe that people wont kill you in your sleep)..but not after we started texting. Things got weird fast. The day I was going to visit he asks me if I would be okay with him being gay, and I’m like um what you do is your business, I lived in a dorm before, just shoot a text if your “busy” lol. He then proceeded to tell me he was NOT in fact gay, but just on the DL (WTF lol). Then this dude began to say that we would need to share a bed. Uh, hells naw lol. I mean I don’t even like sleeping in sheets that I’ve already been with a woman in, and he thought I would even consider sleeping next to him..with thoughts on my mind of what could have went down in those sheets when I wasn’t there lol. NO.
Another dude seemed pretty normal, he actually had a house and was offering a room on the bottom floor. The price was beyond reasonable, which made me skeptical, but what the hell why not call. The call went from cool to creepy in a matter of minutes. I think the guy might have mentioned my underwear pics in my portfolio like 7 times. OH NAW. I didn’t even what to put those pics up, but people insisted that I show that Im capable of doing things like for my portfolio. Long story short, I’ve been ducking his calls ever since. He’s probably going to see this too, but I can care less, he was creepy as hell.
I can go on and on about all the creeps that offered places, but I’m not. I’ll just say that I think I have found a place, which I will visit in a few days just to make sure its as good as it sounds. So I plan to be out in NYC basically around Valentines Day. Lets hope this goes well! If your keeping up with me thus far I really appreciate it!
