A friend of mine came over for a haircut the other day and was mentioning that he and another friend of mine were going to Las Vegas for a few days. He kept mentioning how crazy things get there so by the end of the cut I figured it was worth seeing if I should tag along. He said hell yea get a ticket and come on. Y’all will get to know that I’m super spontaneous.
A reasonable flight, from my perspective, cost around high 200s to low 300s to the west coast. All of the flights were in the low 500s so I had to tell him hell no I wasn’t spending that. Then it hit me that Delta owed me a free flight. I called them up and they were more than happy to assist me with a free round trip to Las Vegas and back. Well it wasn’t totally free, damn service charge was like 35 dollars, but I’ll manage.
Needless to say, I booked the flight and we Lived. It. Up!! To be cautious of future trouble I won’t go into the “wild” specifics of the trip. But lets just say we got our moneys worth, haha. The two friends I went with are huge sports betters. I’m not sure if I said that right, the word better doesn’t seem right. Anyways they spent half the time of all the hotels we stayed at in their “Sports Book.” I gamble a bit myself, but I only allotted 300 to lose and of course Vegas took that shit early haha.
One of my friends was betting a couple hundred on multiple game at a time, which I learned was called a “Parlay.” I figured he knew what he was doing so I added along with him. All I have to say is Lebron owes me money for losing BACK to BACK. Also how the heck did Syracuse lose to NC State? I thought I was going with sure bets! But anyways my one homie did get one bet right. He was down pretty bad so he did a very risky bet. 160 dollars on 6 teams!! That whole day he was anxious. Long story short, the drinks were on him that night. From the picture you can see he made a pretty penny. I made the same bet too but came up a fraction as much of course, haha. I even managed to get a little of his celebration on camera for Vine. Here is the link.
All in all. I’m glad I went despite spending so much money because what really IS money when you compare it to memories. We stayed at Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, and finished up at the Tropicana. All well worth it! I ended up spending around 600 in total including food and drinks, thats a win in my book, especially when the ticket was costing around that in total. Shoutout to Delta for the free flight and Hilton honors for the free room as well. I ended up running into a old teammate who was out there for his conference tournament too and we got to turn up after there unfortunate loss. He invited us to a game too, all for free of course! Damn I love free.
Now its time to get to the grind. I move to NYC this week coming and I start acting classes this Tuesday so life is pretty exciting in 2014 so far!
